Bathroom Safety
Handicap Bathrooms: We Make Them Safe and Accessible
Bathrooms are the most likely rooms in a house in which to experience a fall. The doors are narrow, the toilets are low, the bathtubs or high threshold showers are difficult to navigate, the floor is wet, towels and bathroom mats create a trip hazard. All this is for an able bodied person. If someone in your home has any kind of handicap, bathroom dangers are increased.
Grab Bars For The Handicapped Bathroom Are Essential
We start by removing the bath mats and towels on the floor. We than strategically install grab bars for the bathroom and also in other places where they will increase safety and independence. One example would be a grab bar for the toilet. We take the challenge out of access whether you have a a bathtub or stall shower. In either case, we can install bathroom grab bars at the appropriate level. We recommend adaptive equipment such as hand held showers, tub seats, and transfer benches to address the needs of each individual, depending on their handicap. Bathrooms can be completely made over, or small changes may be all that are needed, such as the installation of grab bars for the bathroom.

We Have More Than Just Bathroom Grab Bars
Toilets are another consideration. We can replace low toilets with comfort height toilets surrounded by securely mounted grab bars. We make sure that lighting, ventilation, and temperature control, as well as electrical safety are all addressed. Many times we enlarge doorways or extend bathrooms into adjacent rooms or closets. If you have difficulty climbing the stairs we can build you a bathroom with a shower on a lower level of the house. We even install walk-in bathtubs to add pleasure to your bathing experience.
